About the Opportunity
The Rural and Remote Mental Health Program delivers mental health and alcohol and other drug services to communities across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service region.
Based at Ayr Hospital, this position sits within the Burdekin Community Mental Health Service.
As an Occupational Therapist (Mental Health Clinician), you will:
Provide occupational therapy assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions
Work with consumers experiencing complex and severe mental health and AOD presentations
Deliver care across the lifespan within a community mental health setting
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external providers
Contribute to integrated, person-centred models of care with a focus on functional recovery, independence and meaningful occupation
Be supported to further develop your clinical skills and therapeutic approaches

What You’ll Need
Mandatory
A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy
Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Desirable
Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner
